Cornish Pasty (Pie Society)


Finest lean ground beef with potatoes, onion, peas and carrots in a warm pepper gravy encased in a soft handmade pastry.

Since the 18th century the cornish pasty was the staple diet for the miners of Cornwall. It was originally filled with vegetables as the families were poor and meat was added later. The size and shape made it easy to hold as their hands would get very dirty while working long hours in the mines.
